In the land where fascism grows,
Its signs and symptoms clearly shows.
A powerful and constant nationalism,
Using symbols and slogans as their mechanism.
Flags are displayed everywhere,
On clothes and in public squares.
The ideals of patriotism they preach,
Through songs, chants, and speeches they teach.
Disregard for human rights they display,
In the name of security, they betray.
Citizens are made to fear their foes,
Justifying torture and brutal blows.
Identifying enemies, labeling them all,
Uniting against those who they call,
The common threats they magnify,
To consolidate power, they intensify.
Military dominance they maintain,
Neglecting domestic issues in disdain.
Funding the glamour of war and might,
While the concerns of the people take flight.
Gender divisions they enforce,
With patriarchal norms as the main source.
Strict control over traditional roles,
Opposing reproductive rights and LGBT souls.
Media controlled, its freedom denied,
Under the government's watchful stride.
Censorship during times of strife,
Suppressing truth to maintain their life.
National security becomes an obsession,
A tool used to manipulate the nation.
Religion and government form an unholy pact,
Exploiting faith to distract and impact.
Corporate power protected and revered,
Fostering a mutually beneficial veneer.
Establishing a privileged alliance,
Between the elite and the government's compliance.
Suppression of labor unions they seek,
Erasing workers' voices, strong and meek.
Intellectuals and arts face disdain,
Academia's autonomy they try to drain.
Crime and punishment with fervor pursue,
Granting the police almost limitless view.
People often turn a blind eye,
Sacrificing civil liberties for a national lie.
Brotherhood and nepotism run rife,
Shielding each other from scrutiny and strife.
Exploiting power and resources at will,
Corruption rampant, causing a national ill.
These are the signs of fascism's reign,
A system that thrives on fear and disdain.
Vigilance and resistance must be our creed,
To ensure liberty, justice, and freedom we succeed.
