Removal of the theory of evolution from the NCERT's 10th-grade science textbook

The Indian government has decided to remove the theory of evolution from the 10th-grade science textbook by the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) in India.  The decision was made after the removal of Mughal and Mahatma Gandhi's history. The theory of Charles Darwin states that humans and apes have a common ancestor, which conflicts with the belief that humans were created by God. By removing the theory of evolution, India is denying its true history and perpetuating blind faith and superstition.

The decision has sparked criticism and concern among  members of the scientific community and the public, with over 1,800 individuals and organizations signing a petition to have the topic reinstated. The CBSE and UP boards are expected to implement the changes in the curriculum, which include the removal of the chapter on evolution, from 2023-24.

The removal of the theory of evolution from the NCERT's 10th-grade science textbook is a matter of concern for many members of the scientific community. The theory of evolution is supported by a vast amount of scientific evidence and is widely accepted as the scientific explanation for the diversity of life on Earth. The removal of this theory from the textbook could lead to a lack of understanding and appreciation for the scientific method and could hinder scientific progress in India. It is important to note that scientific theories are not absolute truths and are subject to change based on new evidence and research. However, the removal of a well-established theory based on ideological or political reasons is not supported by scientific principles.

This move will have  the impact of perpetuating blind faith and superstition in education?
